  • Gals that Give

    In 2013, Gals That Give Charity was a startup Delaware nonprofit founded by a group of women volunteers in Kent County. The founding vision was to provide opportunities where all women can be philanthropically engaged, inspired and support the community in meaningful way.

    In 2022, Gals That Give expanded its reach beyond Kent County and began hosting events state wide.

    Gals That Give Charity is building an empowered network of women that through philanthropy and support will change the world.

  • Dover Colonial Rotary Club

    The Dover Colonial Rotary Club is a non-political and non-sectarian organization of people who share a passion for community service, volunteerism, fellowship, and fun. We have engaging club meetings about twice a month and also hold enjoyable monthly social functions. We also plan, coordinate, sponsor, and participate in community volunteer activities and fundraising initiatives for worthy causes.

    Connects residents with statewide Lions events.

  • Delaware Chapter Sierra Club

    Delaware chapter of the Sierra Club with both virtual and in-person meetings/events/volunteer opportunities, including many opportunities in Dover.

Mutual Aid & Grassroots Networks

Many communities rely on grassroots and informal networks to meet urgent needs. There may be opportunities to get involved through mutual aid networks, food distribution efforts, neighborhood action teams, or other groups that aren’t often listed on volunteer platforms.

  • House of Hope - Central Delaware Housing Collaborative

    Central Delaware Housing Collaborative is a program designed for single women in Kent County. Central Delaware Housing Collaborative consists of one emergency shelter (House of Hope) and two transitional houses. Clients are referred to House of Hope through the Housing Alliance or the State of Delaware. From here clients have the opportunity to move into a transitional house if a spot becomes available and they are willing. While in the program clients are offered case management as well as access to basic living necessities. Sicne opening House of Hope has serviced over 200 clients.

    A nonprofit organization that supports individuals and organizations in community engagement, leadership development, and social impact through mentorship, resources, and networking.

  • Brandywine Valley SPCA

    Volunteers work closely with staff to meet all the needs of adoptable pets, including training, exercising, grooming, and other enriching activities. This organization has junior volunteer opportunities for children 8-12 years old as well.

    Volunteers help individuals with disabilities with daily activities, community trips, and special events, and have a shared belief that everyone with disabilities should experience life with dignity and independence. Easterseals provides services, education, outreach, and advocacy so that people with disabilities, seniors, their families, and caregivers can live, learn, work, and play in our communities.
