About

Founded in 1979 by Rev. Troy Collier, Youth Challenge of Hampton Roads has been serving the community for over four decades. Rev. Collier, once an alcoholic himself, established the 22nd Teen Challenge in the U.S. and later brought his vision to Newport News, Virginia. Starting in a small building, the organization expanded to include a Women’s Home and a 39,000 sq.ft. facility known as the Hope Center, which houses the Men’s Home and administrative offices. Today, Youth Challenge serves the entire Hampton Roads region, offering faith-based recovery programs that have transformed thousands of lives.
