About	Hello and welcome to United Way of Spokane County’s AmeriCorps VISTA Program! AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) is a federal anti-poverty program and national service initiative. SCUW serves as an intermediary sponsor for this program and we support capacity-building anti-poverty projects in Spokane County. Our program strives to: Support the development of sustainable systems and resources which build the capacity of our partners to fight poverty Develop leaders in Spokane Use an asset-based approach to program delivery Our VISTA Program is one way SCUW lives its mission to: “mobilize the community to create measurable results that improve people’s lives.”
