    America's Premier Exposition and the largest fair on the East Coast, running September 18 - October 4, 2026 in West Springfield.     The largest 3x3 basketball competition and celebration on the East Coast, hosted by Eastern States Exposition and the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. The Armory was the federal center for the development and manufacture of U.S. military small arms from 1794 until its deactivation in 1968. The Springfield Armory was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1960 and was administratively listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1966. The park was authorized in 1974 and became established as an NPS unit in 1978.
