Here are places to learn more or that may show current needs. Typical Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities: Corporate or Group Work Day Volunteer Companies are invited to build community through service by coming to camp for a day to help improve the camp property. Projects include planting trees, mulching, mending fences, painting cabins, and more! Photographer Professional or hobby photographers age 18 and older can volunteer to spend time taking photos of campers and counselors having fun for our online photo gallery and fundraising/marketing efforts. Camp Doctor We welcome physicians to augment our camp nursing staff in the summer! Our dedicated medical team works under the advisement of longtime Camp Ernst pediatrician Chris Cunha, MD. Scholarship Campaign Student and parent volunteers are needed to help raise funds for our summer camp scholarship program through personal fundraising goals, helping with thank you calls, and writing thank-you notes. Ranch Individuals with a variety of horse experience can volunteer in our barn to clean stalls, groom horses, and occasionally assist with leading trail rides. Summer Camp Sunday Check-in Ambassador Adult volunteers are needed to help camper families feel welcome and comfortable while moving their camper in to a cabin for the week. Contact the organization to explore other possible ways to work together. |

| How you help | At camp, we rely on hundreds of volunteers to make our programs run smoothly. |

| About | Our popular summer and weekend programs help people grow in spirit, mind, body, and friendship! Since 1928 the YMCA has been building into kids here at camp, and we are looking forward to helping your child make new friends, try new things, and let their light shine here this summer. More than 80-percent of our staff were campers at Camp Ernst. The summer staff is recruited: from past campers and staff, staff contacts, from area and national colleges and high schools, and international counselor programs. |
