| About | The Medical Reserve Corps is a state and national network of local groups of volunteers engaging local communities to strengthen public health, reduce vulnerability, build resilience, and improve preparedness, response and recovery capabilities. Whatcom County Emergency Medical Services along with Whatcom County Health Department, Whatcom County Division of Emergency Management organized credentialed health care workers to serve with the Medical Reserve Corps in Whatcom County beginning in 2020. This group is affiliated with the Washington State Medical Reserve Corps and the Washington State Department of Emergency Management. This unit identifies as Whatcom County Medical Reserve Corps. (WCMRC). Our current focus is Whatcom Street Medicine where we send small teams out to the streets and camps to provide basic first aid, wound care, and consultation to our houseless neighbors.
