Our mission is to build a foundation for lifelong learning in a changing, technological world by creating a safe environment where the dignity and uniqueness of each student are valued and respected. We are committed to preparing our students from Pre-K through 6th grade for academic success and personal growth through a partnership among staff, parents, and the Tecumseh community. At Tecumseh South Elementary, we strive to foster a love of learning, ensuring every child has the tools to thrive in a diverse and dynamic society.

We are Tecumseh South Elementary School, a vibrant part of Shawnee Heights Unified School District 450, serving approximately 475 students from Pre-K through 6th grade in Tecumseh, Kansas, just southeast of Topeka. Our dedicated team of educators, including a full-time counselor, librarian, reading specialist, and special education staff, works together to provide a nurturing and inclusive learning environment rooted in a tradition of academic and social success. As the home of the Mustangs, we take pride in our comprehensive programs and strong community ties, offering a space where every child’s potential is recognized and celebrated.
