In addition to bringing holiday cheer to our seniors, we have for more than 10 years, partnered with local elementary school children who become pen pals with the seniors on our list. Six times a year, the children create unique, seasonal greeting cards with personal letters enclosed. The rapport established between the generations has been amazing and heartwarming. It is our desire the brighten the lives of our seniors who may be aging in place and have little in the way of family or community support.
At the end of each school year, we bring the pen pals together to meet at a festive pizza party.
