Volunteer in Aging Well

The Aging Well Initiative of United Way of Weld County is dedicated to ensuring that older adults in Weld County have the necessary support to age well within the community of their choice, enhancing their quality of life as they grow older. Our mission focuses on creating age-friendly cities and towns that benefit not just seniors but all residents, addressing the challenges posed by an aging population and the increasing strain on health care and human services. We aim to connect older adults with vital resources, volunteer opportunities, and programs that promote independence, dignity, and community engagement for a thriving later life.

The Aging Well Initiative is a key program under United Way of Weld County, a nonprofit with a long-standing commitment to improving lives across the region, launched to specifically tackle the needs of the growing population of adults aged 50 and older. We are a collaborative effort involving staff, volunteers, and a network of local organizations like the Weld County Area Agency on Aging and Meals on Wheels, all working together to support healthy aging in an area where nearly 10,000 Baby Boomers turn 65 daily nationwide. Our team leverages United Way’s extensive experience and community relationships to address the unique challenges faced by older adults, including rising homelessness among this demographic, with a focus on collective impact and innovative solutions.
