What we do

Activities include looking games, discussion prompts, singing, and even some ideas for what to do when you get home. Many of the activities are great alone or with a friend, but can also include a big group.

How you help

The Dennos Museum Center has a small staff, and is only able to accomplish its goals and mission with the help of its volunteers. Volunteers staff the Front Desk and the Museum Store during open hours; Tour Docents lead tours of K-12, college, and adult groups; volunteers help out with changing exhibits, inventorying collections, and at special events.

About

The Dennos Museum Center, located at Northwestern Michigan College and opened in 1991, engages audiences through a diverse collection of art, exhibitions, and programs in the visual arts, sciences, and performing arts. The museum features temporary and permanent galleries, a sculpture court, and a hands-on Discovery Gallery, with its permanent collection showcasing regional, national, and international art from the 19th-21st centuries. It is home to one of the largest Inuit art collections in the U.S., and the surrounding campus features outdoor sculptures by renowned artists. The Milliken Auditorium hosts global performers, and the museum’s 2018 expansion added new galleries and auditorium spaces with strong community support.
