| About | From the time the Mission was established, our mission was to demonstrate and proclaim God’s love to the less fortunate and homeless people of West Michigan. We have provided food, shelter, clothing and spiritual direction to those in need. Our objective is to bring people to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ, thus bringing them to dependence upon God and independence within society. |

| What we do | We provide Christ-centered programs and services for the homeless and those in need. Our services take a holistic approach to our local homelessness community by providing physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual help. We provide temporary emergency shelter to homeless women, families with male children up to their 18 birthday, and custodial single fathers. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, showers, clothing, chapel services, case management, and health screenings are just a few of the services provided to all mission guests. Our Lighthouse Children’s room is open year-round to children staying in shelter. We provide fun spiritual and educational experiences to help restore a sense of normalcy to uprooted lives. Our women’s residential programs are designed to address the specific issues that contribute to life instability and, in turn, homelessness. The primary goal of these long-term programs is to walk alongside women and children as they either enter or strengthen their walk with Christ. |

| How you help | Your help in caring for the less fortunate and the homeless is essential to our ministry. Volunteering at the Muskegon Rescue Mission means more than just gifting time. It means clothing the needy, feeding the hungry, sheltering the homeless and demonstrating the love of Christ. Whether it’s serving a meal, tutoring a student, or helping at our thrift store or processing center – volunteers make a difference in the lives of people. |
