Our Mission Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. Our mission, along with the Girl Scout Promise and Law are the foundation of all we do. By saying the Promise, girls are pledging to live by the elements of the Law, and those elements are incorporated into all program activities to bring them to life. In partnership with over 6,000 adult volunteers, Girl Scouts of the North Western Great Lakes (GSNWGL) serves nearly 20,000 girls in 58 counties in northern Wisconsin and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. GSNWGL provides opportunities for girls to discover their strengths, connect with others, and take action to improve their communities. Girl Scouts is the world’s preeminent leadership development organization for girls, building girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. GSNWGL’s jurisdiction spans about 400 miles from east to west and about 300 miles from north to south. Our members have access to 10 camp properties and 6 service centers. Bordered by three of the Great Lakes – Huron, Michigan and Superior – the resort areas of Door County, Isle Royale National Park and Mackinac Island are in our jurisdiction.
