Soul City Church exists to serve the souls of the Midtown neighborhood just west of Millsaps College. Founded by Scott and Candiss Fortenberry, Soul City Church follows an upside-down model of ministry. Soul City seeks to serve the community first, leading to relationships with neighbors that ultimately point these new friends to Jesus. Scott and Candiss and Soul City’s leadership desire for Soul City to be externally focused, always seeking to meet needs and care for those around them. Soul City started in a house in Midtown and now has a church building and dormitories.
