Volunteer Opportunity Websites

For the Centralia, WA area, there are currently no locally-managed platforms that list volunteer opportunities and connect volunteers with local organizations. However, local organizations may post to national or statewide volunteer sites.

Service Clubs

Many communities have local service clubs that offer community engagement opportunities, such as Rotary Clubs.

  • You can be part of what Rotary does for Centralia. Though founded as largely a men’s business service organization, Rotary has changed with the times. Women are welcome and this year, for the first time, a woman is president of Rotary International – Jennifer Jones is a member of the Windsor-Roseland, Ontario, Canada Rotary Club.

  • The club was founded in 1948. In the past 68 years the club has helped supply thousands of eye glasses for those who were unable to purchase them plus paid for their exams. Also helping with supplying food for those in need in the community of Centralia Washington.

  • Club meets on second Thursday of each month at 6:00 pm at Denny’s in Centralia.

Mutual Aid & Grassroots Networks

Many communities rely on grassroots and informal networks to meet urgent needs. There may be opportunities to get involved through mutual aid networks, food distribution efforts, neighborhood action teams, or other groups that aren’t often listed on volunteer platforms.

Prominent Organizations

Often prominent organzations rely on their widespread recognition rather than posting on volunteer recruiting websites.

  • Salvation Army Programs are led by Salvation Army Officers. These officers are responsible to lead by assessing needs, delivering programs and directing ministries for our local community. From serving food to balancing the books, they function as the Executive Directors and the Pastors for the Centralia Corps.

  • At Harrison Square, we believe that the Church is called to embody the hope of the gospel to a community beyond its walls. We believe that the best way to live out this high call, especially in a context like Lewis County, is through our mission of “Feeding people. Body. Mind.
