| About | We provide education and information to the public regarding Alzheimer’s and other dementias, through health fairs, speaking engagements, education programs, and public events. We also maintain a library of materials that can be borrowed, and we provide literature to interested individuals and groups. We provide assistance and support for individuals with dementia and their families through care consultations, support groups, and our 24 hour helpline. We support Alzheimer’s research through our fundraising events. The Alzheimer’s Association is the largest, private non-profit funder of Alzheimer’s research. Our Walk to End Alzheimer’s (held in six locations across southeastern Virginia) is our largest awareness-raising and fund-raising event of the year. |
