| About | The Center for Community Alternatives was founded in 1981 with the belief that the solution to crime rests in communities, not imprisonment. Our mission is to promote reintegrative justice and a reduced reliance on incarceration through advocacy, services, and public policy development in pursuit of civil and human rights. Recognizing the devastating impact of incarceration on low-income communities and communities of color, CCA was one of the first community-based alternative-to-incarceration programs in the State of New York. Since then, CCA has grown into a statewide organization widely recognized for its principled stance on criminal justice reform, and for its high-impact programs for justice-involved youth and adults. |
