In 1998, Bristol’s IGNITE Community Visioning process paved the way for the Youth Networking Alliance (YNA) with the purpose to bring folks together who cared about children and youth issues. Bristol Virginia already had coalitions working together, but Bristol Tennessee did not. The YNA included both sides and was able to work together as a community.
Since then, our Youth Networking Alliance is just one of many initiatives Bristol’s Promise works on in our community. Additional initiatives include Adverse Childhood Experiences & Trauma Responsive Care, Parenting Coalition & Education, Poverty Awareness & Education, Buckle Up for Life, and Twin City Reads. Each of these initiatives bring together community organizations and members to create a stronger, brighter Bristol.
