About

Hosted by the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO) with support from United Way of the Midlands, proceeds from Blue Collar Boxing will strengthen our community by supporting the efforts of United Way of the Midlands and the Nebraska Center for Workforce Development and Education.

United Way of the Midlands
Since 1923, United Way of the Midlands (UWM) has served the Omaha-Council Bluffs metro by bridging the business and not-for-profit sectors and raising money to support our community’s most impactful health and human service programs. UWM’s funded programs and direct services – like 211 and JAG Nebraska – focus on four key areas to improve health and well-being for all, build financial stability and strength, help young people realize their full potential and address urgent needs today to advance a better tomorrow.

Nebraska Center for Workforce Development and Education
The Nebraska Center for Workforce Development and Education (NCWDE) is a nonprofit focused on creating opportunities for individuals to gain exposure to careers in the trades and increasing awareness of these high-income, high-benefit career paths. Through their partnerships and programs, they are helping to increase the qualified workforce in Nebraska – specifically within the trades – to help address the shortage of skilled-labor workers and support the infrastructure of the State of Nebraska.
