The Sibley Environmental Learning Center Foundation, Inc., also known as Sibley Nature Center, was founded to address a lack of environmental education for children in Midland, Texas. Supported by a challenge grant from the Potts-Sibley Foundation and local conservation groups, it became an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 2005. The Center educates the public about the region’s unique nature and history through programs, workshops, exhibits, and a research library. Each year, over 35,000 people visit the Center, while many more enjoy its free-access Nature Trail. Sibley also hosts rotating learning modules and the Sibley Camera Club, fostering engagement with nature photography for all skill levels. Dedicated to education and personal experience, Sibley continues to be a vital resource for the community.
