About
The Belgrade Senior Center, founded in 1972, began with nine members, including Rosa Clark, who lived to 110. Initially hosted at the Federated Church, the Center moved to a City Complex space in 1973 but quickly outgrew it as membership expanded. By the late 1970s, a need for more space led to a lease agreement with the City, allowing the seniors to build the current facility on Broadway and East Cameron. Fundraising efforts in 1987, supported by community donations, labor, and grants, helped complete the building. Over the years, programs like meals-on-wheels and noon meals, in partnership with the Gallatin County Nutrition program, have become essential services. Funding comes from various sources, including local government, grants, and fundraisers. In 2022, the City incorporated the Senior Center into its budget, continuing its legacy as a vital community asset.
