Volunteer Opportunity Websites

There are several platforms that may list volunteer opportunities and connect volunteers with local organizations.

Service Clubs

Many cities have local service clubs that offer community engagement opportunities, such as Rotary Clubs.

  • Rotary is a global community of more than 1.2 million men and women dedicated to building a better world. Service Above Self: This website is a place where rotarians and other community members can learn about the service projects, events, and more to benefit others. Our mission is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise.

  • We are a professionals and community members that focus on giving back to our local area kids. We meet weekly to learn about what is happening in the are, the issues affecting the community and the amazing works people are doing. We also do several fundraising events throughout the year. Those funds go directly back into the community to benefit kids. We host many events to help kids and the community from donating books to local schools to cleaning up local parks.

  • Lions Clubs International is the world’s largest service organization, focused on humanitarian service, strengthening communities, and supporting those in need, with the motto “We Serve”.

  • The Junior League of Yakima is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.

Mutual Aid & Grassroots Networks

Many communities rely on grassroots and informal networks to meet urgent needs. There may be opportunities to get involved through mutual aid networks, food distribution efforts, neighborhood action teams, or other groups that aren’t often listed on volunteer platforms.
